Old York Garden Club

The Old York Garden Club of York Maine was established and federated in 1932.We are affiliated with National Garden Clubs, Inc. and the  Garden Club Federation of Maine.

The objective of our Club is to encourage knowledge and love of gardening among amateurs; to aid the protection of native trees, plants and birds; to promote civic planting, and to participate in such activities as voted by the Club.

The Old York Garden Club is responsible for planting and maintaining the traffic islands around York. Two of the most eye-catching are the stand of grasses interspersed with seasonal bulbs at the intersection of Rt. 1 and York street, and the striking blue island of Nepeta (catmint) at the intersection of York Street and Organug Rd.  Our yearly artistry with the monument in the center of town is always a source of pleasure for visitors and townspeople alike.
