The club's very active membership benefits from the expertise of its members
and from talented presenters at the club's monthly programs and workshops.
Our award-winning community gardens, which this year include a Youth Garden,
and holiday decorations have become an integral part of our daily life.
Our numerous community activities and youth projects include workshops to
prepare Christmas boxwood trees and May baskets, a Faerie Festival for
children during Kennebunk's May Day Festival, garden-poster contests for
elementary school students and poetry contests, which are submitted to the
GCFM and then NGC for awards.
The Belle Thompson Pelletier Scholarship Award, named for our club's
founder, is awarded annually to a graduate of Kennebunk High School who will
study horticulture in college. Current college horticulture students
also may apply for the award. Previous winners are encouraged to
reapply for the award
