GCFM AWARDS
The GCFM recognizes outstanding achievement by member Clubs, Districts, and Individuals. Awards received at the NGC Convention are presented at the GCFM Annual Convention. NER Awards are presented at the GCFM Fall Conference and Annual Convention. GCFM Trophies are presented at the GCFM Convention. Youth Awards are presented on the GCFM District Level.
The GCFM Board of Directors welcomes the establishment of new awards. Should anyone desire to establish an award, the individual should contact the Awards Chairman who, in turn, will present the award proposal to the GCFM Board of Directors for acceptance. If there are financial attachments to the award, this must be approved by the GCFM Finance Committee.
GCFM Awards may be discontinued with consent of the donor if applicable, and by the vote of the GCFM Board of Directors. Requirements for GCFM Awards may be amended with consent of the donor, if applicable and by vote of the GCFM Board of Directors.
Traveling trophies are the property of the GCFM and may be awarded to member clubs in recognition of superior activities. The GCFM will be responsible for the cost of engraving trophies with the club name and award year. Clubs are responsible for returning the trophy in cleaned, polished condition to the GCFM Awards Chairman by May 15th. If shipped, the trophy should be carefully packaged and insured for replacement value by the club. The club is responsible for any shipping cost.
GCFM Award Year: January 1st to December 31st. The deadline for each award application is APRIL 1 unless otherwise noted. The New England Regional and National Garden Club awards have different deadlines. Award committees should note these deadlines early when applying, as all award applications must be signed by the GCFM President and Award Chair.
