Publicity
The Thomas G. Atwell Award for the Best Publicity dealing with GCFM Objectives. Judging of application to be done in conference by the following GCFM Chairmen: Awards, Newsletter Editor, Membership, and two non-GCFM Board members (preference to be given to garden club members with journalism experience). Each winner to keep trophy; winning club's name to be engraved on plaque kept by GCFM President. Donor to provide plaque and annual trophy. A district, individual club or group of clubs may apply. Winner to keep trophy. Winning club's, clubs' or district's name (s) to be engraved on plaque kept by GCFM President.
Scale of Points
Application to be: no more than 12 pages (both sides 8 .5 x 11) Book of evidence not required
May be as little as one clipping or one video tape (copies permissible) Include copies of original material sent to publicity source (letter)
Applications will include information on publicity for previous year.
Points to be award for the following:
Quality of publicity (depth and knowledge shown in coverage) 45
Unusual aspect of publicity 15
Stressing GCFM and membership in a garden club 15
Stressing NGC Objectives 15
