Club Information Founded in 1931, our garden club serves the Harpswell-Brunswick area of Mid-coast Maine.

We maintain gardens at Harpswell Historic Park and Harpswell Town Hall. We have restored and maintain the Union Church in Harpswell, listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1989.

The club helps maintain the Memorial and Friendship Gardens on the grounds of the former Brunswick Naval Air Station.

The club maintains two scholarships. The Arthur C. Clayton Scholarship at the University of Maine in Orono honors a past member of the garden club, and is awarded annually to a horticulture student at the University.

Also, we contribute annually to the Merrymeeting Audubon Society's Camp Scholarship Program.

October 18: 1:00 p.m. "Managing Honey Bees is a Challenging Coastal Environment" slide presentation by Judith Stanton, member of Maine State Beekeepers Association. Kellogg Church, 917 Harpswell Neck Road, Harpswell.

November 15: 1:00 p.m. "Starting Your Own Cut Flower Garden" by Nancy Stedman of Little River Flower Farm, Buxton. Curtis Memorial Library, 23 Pleasant Street, Brunswick.

December 8: 5:30 p.m. "Tree Lighting Celebration with Carols, Cocoa and Cookies" at Centennial Hall, Route 123, Harpswell Center

December 13: 1:00 p.m. "Celebrating the Senses and the Season" with Harmon's of Portland Floral Designs, Kellogg Church 917 Harpswell Neck Road, Harpswell.

January, 2019: no meeting

February 21, 2019: 1:00 p.m "Ticks and ME: Vector-borne Diseases in Maine" offered by Emer Smith of the Maine Center for Disease Control; Kellogg Church, 917 Harpswell Neck Road, Harpswell

March 21, 2019, 1:00 p.m.: "Lavender" by Lorie Costigan of Glendaragh Lavender Farm; Thornton Oaks, 25 Thornton Way, Brunswick

April 18, 2019, 1:00 p.m.: "Captivating Containers" by Kelly Orzel of Bowery Beach Farm; Curtis Memorial Library's Morrell Room, 23 Pleasant Street, Brunswick
