Club Information The Foothills Garden Club is made up of men and women who love gardens. We are active volunteers at the McLaughlin Garden & Homestead in South Paris. Outside of our diversified McLaughlin involvements, we meet regularly during the growing season to visit gardens - those of our club members as well as other area properties.
Club Programs Announcing the McLaughlin Garden winter lecture series, co-sponsored with the McLaughlin Garden. Held at 97 Main Street, South Paris. Tea at 3:30 p.m. 4:00 p.m. Donations requested. Public welcome.

February 20
Tom Estabrook will present "How to Use Under- Used Plants in Your Landscape".

February 27
Mike Schwindt of Foreside Garden Club will present “From Seeds to Trees”.

March 6
Donna Anderson, executive director of the McLaughlin Garden, will present "Pleasure Gardens for Kings, Queens, and Commoners: 500 Years of Historic Gardens at Hampton Court."

March 13
Cindy Creps of Meadow Ridge Perennial Farm will present “Growing and Arranging Cut Flowers”.

March 20
Ted Anderson will present "Heard But Not (Often) Seen: Discovering the Hidden Birds of Western Maine."

March 27
Aurelia Scott of St Mary’s Garden Club will present “Alliums Alive! Growing garlic, chives, scallions and decorative alliums in flower beds and containers”.

April 25 Foothills Garden Club Annual Meeting. 6:00 p.m. at the McLaughlin Garden, South Paris. Slide show of gardens visited in 2018.

May 10 – 12 McLaughlin Garden - 97 Main Street, South Paris. 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. “Wildflower Celebration”. There will be garden tours, the opening of the plant sale, and a lecture by Dr. Jean Potuchek “Invasive Plants and the Challenge of Ethical Gardening” on May 11 at 2 pm. May 24 – 27 McLaughlin Garden - 97 Main Street, South Paris. 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. “Lilac Festival”. There will be garden tours, information on growing lilacs and a continuation of the plant sale. Call 743-8820 for information and the times.
