Club Information Sebasticook Garden Club strives to promote an awareness of our environment, to educate and foster a love of gardening.

Since Sebasticook Lake is the largest lake in the United States completely enclosed within one township, it is naturally a focal point of Newport and we have derived the name of our club from it.

SGC meets on the 4th Thursday in March through October and on the 2nd Thursday in Nov. and Dec. There are no meetings in Jan. and Feb. Our meetings are at the Newport Cultural Center, unless otherwise noted. We often travel to other gardens in the summer months.

We have members from Corinna, Corinth, Dexter, Exeter, Newport, Palmyra, Pittsfield, Stetson and the vicinity.
Club Programs
May is a busy month for us. We plant the window boxes at the Cultural Center and the planters on Main Street, Newport have our May meeting, and our Plant/Bake Sale.

This year our June meeting took us to member gardens in Exeter and Corinth.

July will take us to the Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens in Booth Bay.

We''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''re travelling again in August to the Dragonfly Farm & Winery in Stetson.

We''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''ll be in Stetson again in September at a members home for a Tea Party.

We''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''ll be at the Cultural Center in October, Janet Edwards, aka Mountain Mama of Maine will speak to us about the history and uses of lavender,

November is still a mystery and December is a Christmas Gathering at a members home.

We don''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''t have meetings in January and February, but we do meet for lunch in February to draw the winner of our Valentine Raffle.

March finds us at the Cultural Center again to listen to Craig Flood of Johnny''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''s Seeds tell us about edible flowers & plants.

April is our annual meeting again and in 2019 we will install new officers the the ensuing 2 years.
