Lifetime Memberships Support the GCFM Scholarship Fund

The Garden Club Federation of Maine Scholarship program is funded entirely by the Life Membership program. Funds are generated from donations by individuals or club members to honor those members who have made significant contributions to GCFM goals and projects, or as an honor for non-members. Memorial gifts are also gratefully accepted.

To give “a gift that lasts a lifetime” and support Maine college students studying horticulture or related fields, you may submit an online application for one of the following:

• GCFM State Life Member:  May be accorded to any member of the GCFM with a donation of $50.00 by themselves or a friend, to recognize an outgoing officer and/or a garden club member who has contributed much to the goals and projects of GCFM.
• GCFM Honorary Life Member:  May be accorded to an individual who is not a member of a garden club upon request with a donation of $50.00 payable to the GCFM Scholarship Fund. Any member of the GCFM may sponsor an individual for an Honorary Life Membership.
• Memorial Gifts:  May be made in any amount payable to the GCFM Scholarship Fund. Gifts will be acknowledged by the Scholarship Chair and notification can be made to the family of the person for whom the gift was made.

State Life Membership pins are available through the GCFM. To purchase a pin to be sent to a new State Life Member, include an additional $8 to cover the cost of the pin plus mailing.

Some GCFM districts and local federated garden clubs also offer financial aid to students pursuing careers in horticulture or related fields. Check our Club Directory for a club in your area and contact them to see if they offer scholarship assistance.

Memorial gifts may be made by check and sent with a donation form to the GCFM Treasurer, or

National Garden Clubs Life Memberships

National Garden Clubs , Inc., also accepts donations for Life Memberships to fund NGC scholarships. To become an NGC Life Member, a fee of $200 paid to the National Garden Clubs, Inc. is required.  A downloadable form is available here .

Memorial gifts in memory of a garden club member, a friend, or family member may also be made to support the NGC’s scholarships.
